About the MumWrap
Why is it uncomfortable when I am sitting down with my MumWrap?
Before you sit, try pulling the MumWrap lower on the body.
I'm several months postpartum – is it too late to wear the Classic Restoring MumWrap?
Of course not! Although the MumWrap will be most effective when worn 12 weeks immediately after delivery (aka the Golden Period), the MumWrap can be effective up to one year of postpartum!
How long should I wear the MumWrap for?
We recommend wearing the MumWrap for at least 6 hours each day, for a minimum of 8-12 weeks. You can even sleep in it!
Can we sleep in the MumWrap?
Absolutely!
What can't we do in the MumWrap?
You can pretty much go about your day (other than in the shower) in your MumWrap as long as you have no trouble breathing. You can exercise, sleep, breastfeed (our material is baby-friendly) safely in our MumWrap.
When should I start wearing the MumWrap?
We recommend using the MumWrap as soon as 2 weeks after a vaginal delivery, and after 4 weeks for C-section delivery.
Do not use the MumWrap directly on a C-section incision as the friction may cause irritation and redness, only use after you have applied our reusable Silicon C-section Scar Patch.
Can I wear the MumWrap when I'm pregnant?
No, no, no! Our MumWrap has high compression that is not recommended for pregnancy, it is designed for postpartum recovery only.
Does anyone else have difficulties putting on the MumWrap by themselves?
Try starting with a lower level of compression. Make sure you have the right side up and start fastening the hook-and-eye clasps from top to bottom. It gets easier once you get used to it. Our mummas can do it in less than half a minute!
Do I use my pre- or post-pregnancy measurements?
Since you will be wearing your MumWrap post-delivery, use your post-delivery measurements to determine your size.
If you're in between sizes, we recommend sizing down.
Which size should I get if I haven't given birth yet?
The rule of thumb is to measure your waist at its widest point, which is anytime from the 8th month of pregnancy to just before you give birth, then subtract 8-13 cm from the measurement.
Can I reuse my MumWrap from the first time?
Of course! We purposely designed the MumWraps with strength and durability so that it maintains its shape and compression. However, if you do feel the compression is not as strong as it was (especially for mummas who have had multiple births), then it's time to get a new one
About the Scar Patch
When can I start using the Silicone Patches?
You can start as soon as your wound is completely healed. Never use the Silicone Patch on a wound that is not completely healed.
How long should I wear the Silicone Patches for?
Each Silicone Patch is good for 7 days until you have to change to a new one. You can use the Silicone Patches for as long as you want until you feel totally comfortable without them!
Can I wear the Silicone Patches in the shower, or during water activities?
Absolutely, that's what they're made for! The Silicone Patches are water-resistant to protect your battle scar.
The Silicone Patch was fine before, but then it got a little itchy / uncomfortable?
Remember to wash your Silicone Patch every day, the inside of the Silicone Patches can get dirty as the skin around your wound area is regrowing, causing it to be uncomfortable. Another reason could be hair that is growing but obstructed by the Silicone Patch.
If irritation occurs, reapply a new Silicone Patch even if it hasn't been used for 7 days. Stop using the Scar Patches if irritation continues after changing to a new one.
If irritation continues after removing the Silicone Patch, please seek medical advice.
How small can I cut the Silicone Patches into?
The Silicone Patches are made big enough for most kinds of c-section incisions, so it could be a bit big for yours! We recommend vertically cutting the Silicone Patch into half at most, as smaller pieces may come off when being constantly rubbed against your clothing.
Can the Silicone Patches be used on other types of wounds?
Even though we made them specifically for c-section incisions, they can be used on any types of incisions as long as the wound is completely healed already.
Can I share my Silicone Patches with others?
Not unless they're unopened and unused. Sharing Silicone Patches can increase the risk of cross-contamination and infections.
About the Foot Patch
Can I use the Foot Patches when I'm pregnant and/or whilst breast feeding?
Absolutely! Our Deswelling Foot Patch are made of quality herbal extracts and are safe to use during pregnancy and whilst breast-feeding. Ingredients include Bamboo vinegar (45%), Chitosan, Cellulose, Vitamin C. and other natural herbal extracts.
Do I have to use the Foot Patches at night, or can I use them during the day too?
We assume you're not always walking on your feet at night so we recommend putting the patches on when we sleep. Feel free to use them during the day too, but we did warn you that it could get uncomfortable with prolonged periods of walking.
Why did my Foot Patches become wet/brownish-black?
Don't worry, that's what they're supposed to do! When the bamboo vinegar comes into contact with your feet, the patch absorbs the moisture. Just rinse off whatever residue is left on your feet!
How long can I leave the Foot Patches on for?
We recommend taking them off after 8 hours and not leaving them on for over 10 hours.
What do I do if I've stuck the wrong side of the Foot Patch to the adhesive tape?
Unfortunately, our Foot Patches only work on one side. You'll need to use a new one if you made a mistake.
I don't understand the writings on the Foot Patch?
That's because it's Japanese! We source our Foot Patches from Japan to ensure quality assurance. We've already translated the writings for you, it simply means "stick this side to the adhesive tape".
Are the Foot Patches only good for postpartum mummas?
Actually, the Foot Patches are suitable for anyone, men and women, young and old! Give your loved one a lovely treat and pop some on them!
Can the Foot Patches be used on your feet only?
Our Foot Patches work best on feet, but you can also use them on your palms or upper back.
